We are pleased to announce we have taken delivery of 10 new Esab 400 Amp Inverter Welding sets as part of our investment plans to increase production output and efficiency. The new sets will be used across both divisions of Sterling plant bodies and its new division Hymix concrete mixers.
Sterling are currently scaling up production by 25% ready for 2022, which is forecast to be a record for the business. We are pleased to confirm the first 6 months of 2022 production is already fully booked and the Hymix Concrete Mixer business is also increasing. This will create around 20 new skilled jobs for the North East and we have also just taken on 3 apprentices.
We selected these units following extensive evaluations with Esab and their partners Grahams Machinery in Teesside to cater for the wide range of welding and fabrication tasks carried out in our business. The new machines allow greater control of welding parameters for greater welding consistency and quality. These units are the first Inverter units we have taken delivery of which require less electricity usage over against traditional transformer units.
Pictured are Andy Carter, Operations Manager at Sterling, Brian Rutherford of Esab and Neil Pollock of GMS officially handing over the units yesterday at our factory in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. A huge thanks to Brian and Neil for their support through this whole project and we are confident these units will be proving themselves for many years to come.

"I was impressed with the experience of working with Sterling Mixers, from the start they were proactive and helpful to deal with. We received the truck in only around 4 weeks from placing the order, painted in our colours. It looks great and is a vital tool for our growth and investment plans. Very happy with Sterling and their product."
