Factory Shutdown – 25th March 2020

The leadership team at Sterling have taken the difficult decision to temporarily suspend production at our Stokesley Factory in North Yorkshire starting Wednesday 25th March.  This is expected to last until the end of April, but will be subject to constant review, depending on the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We feel this decision is the right one to protect the health of our staff and their families. We also anticipate severe supply chain issues for components from suppliers in the coming months which would severely impact on our ability to continue production. Furthermore we expect disruption to the supply of new truck chassis arriving as most of the European truck chassis manufacturers have also also closed their production facilities due to this pandemic.

The Sterling office team will continue to work remotely, as will a skeleton Support Team to provide our Clients with urgent assistance and parts as required.

We are confident that we are in a strong position to ‘weather’ this crisis, and will be increasing the resource spent on proactive business improvements and new products during this period. We are confident we will come out of this crisis stronger.
