Local firm Ready Mix Tees valley has taken delivery of the first #NewHymix truck mixer which is the first to come of the new production line built by the team at Sterling. This is a new P4 Model fitted to a Mercedes Arocs 8×4 with a P8021 8M Drum. We have spent the last 12 months extensively analysing the structure and design using 3D CAD software to increase the strength of the design. We are very pleased with the finished result which keeps the existing drum and blade pattern which was renowned for its mixing capability, especially with dry batch plants. The design includes a simple manual control system which is very reliable and straightforward to maintain, something which is important to mixer operators. The updated design has added around 150KGS of weight, every kilogram of which is for a good reason, however this still maintains its class-leading payload.
The new mixer has already been working hard for Tees Valley delivering a host of different products across a booming Teesside construction sector, including concrete to the new Redcar Cinema as one example.
Ready Mix Tees Valley owner James Greenwood commented after 2 days in use; ‘So we have run the truck for 2 days now, and literally no news is good news! Nothing has gone wrong, everything works exactly as it should. We love the way it loads, it mixes concrete and not just agitates it. The guys at Sterling have been with us today and the only change we have asked them to make is to up the max speed on the PTO setting from an engine speed of 1100rpm to 1350rpm. Not to make the drum mix any better just to get the water pump to spin a bit faster for better cleaning.’
A huge thanks to Jim for purchasing the first truck and we are confident it will be the first of many.
