Mark Bates & Sons Ltd are an independent family run ready-mix concrete firm based in Middleton, Greater Manchester with a second depot in Waterfoot, Lancashire. They have just taken delivery of their first new Hymix 8M Transit Mixer since the brand was taken over by the Sterling Group in 2019. The Mixer is fitted to a top spec DAF CF450 8×4 construction Chassis with alloy wheels and automatic gearbox.

Mark Bates is a longstanding Hymix operator and has always valued the mixing performance of the Hymix drum design. The blade configuration is design to give a superior concrete mix from either wet or dry batch plants, and a rapid discharge when delivering.

Sterling have invested in improving the design with new stronger front and rear stools for maximum durability, and extensively modified the hydraulics and water systems for greater reliability.

Mark commented that the quality of the concrete produced is excellent and the truck is getting great feedback from sites when delivering.

The Mixer includes the Awaywash system to contain water when washing down, a 350 litre plastic water tank, PMP heavy duty water pump and PMP hydraulics.
